Wow!! Was my first reaction

She has been my inspiration even before I knew what inspiration means. Her outlook towards life, her perseverance, her resilience, her caring ways, her willingness to give back, her humility and her unbreakable resolve to love unconditionally are just some of her characteristics that I hope & aim to accomplish.

For some time we only knew her as our mother, until we came across an old picture album that was carefully kept intact & it revealed the best kept success of our family. The person on the winning stand, in the newspaper article & leading the parade in the pictures is the same shy, timid & amazing human we know as our mom but now we also knew that she was a successful athlete of her time. Wow!!! was my first reaction😲

She studied at The Mama Parsi School Karachi, Pakistan & later also served there as a teacher. She represented her school in many inter school games and won medals and trophies. She also represented her school and Pakistan at international tournaments held in Bangladesh (back then known as East Pakistan). This was the 1950s era of Pakistan.

She kept giving her best, being an amazing athlete, winning games and tournaments. Sometimes she didn’t even know that someone had clicked a picture or she had appeared in a newspaper. These pictures and news clippings are from her collection which she received from others. Her humble nature kept her from showcasing her accolades and she preserved these memories safely tucked in her picture albums. 

The achievements & contributions of the great athlete towards her school and our country are a source of great pride for our family.
